KABUL(BNA): The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has introduced two new Islamic financial contracts Musharakah and Mudarabah through the Agricultural Development Fund. The launch event, held with the ministry’s leadership and other officials, is aimed at enhancing support for the agricultural sector.
Mawlawi Sardar Azam Usmani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, highlighted the ministry’s dedication to supporting farmers and livestock owners. He stated that these new contracts are part of the ministry’s broader efforts to provide Islamic financial services and support the growth of the agricultural sector.
Engineer Abdul Ghafoor Ghafari, Chairman of the Agricultural Development Fund’s Executive Board, explained that Musharakah (equity financing) and Mudarabah (profit-sharing) are financial structures approved by the fund’s High Council.
These contracts are designed to aid small-scale businesses and enterprises in agriculture and livestock.
Meanwhile, officials from the fund noted that these Islamic financial contracts will enable farmers, livestock owners, and entrepreneurs in the private sector to expand their operations and contribute to agricultural development across the country.
