ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari, on Sunday, welcomed Pakistan’s assumption of the presidency of the Group of 24 (G-24).
The president congratulated Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and his team on the achievement, President Secretariat Media Wing said in a press release.
He said Pakistan’s G-24 presidency presents a significant opportunity to ensure effective representation of developing countries in global economic affairs.
He expressed the confidence that Pakistan would effectively utilise the G-24 platform to promote the common interests of developing economies.
The opportunity would enable Pakistan to play a significant role in advancing development financing, addressing climate challenges and strengthening global financial cooperation, the president added.
