KABUL (BNA): In a recent interview with the Russian Sputnik News Agency, China’s special envoy for Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, emphasized that no reason should justify interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.
He asserted that Afghanistan should be allowed to pursue an independent internal policy according to its national conditions and that no external factors should disrupt the sovereignty of an independent nation.
Yue Xiaoyong stressed, “I believe that the key to solving Afghanistan’s problems is constructive international cooperation and a region without foreign interference, and this is the main point.”
He further suggested that the international community should engage with Kabul in a neutral and respectful manner, sharing governance experiences and supporting Afghanistan in choosing a modernization path that suits its national conditions.
Regarding China’s infrastructure projects in Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong confirmed their commitment to the renovation of the Wakhan Corridor in Badakhshan as part of the revival of the Great Silk Road.
He expressed readiness to collaborate with the Afghan government in these fields, highlighting China’s ongoing efforts to foster constructive international cooperation.
