KABUL(BNA) – Israeli media have reported that in response to the recent rocket attack in the Golan Heights, which resulted in the deaths of Israeli civilians, Israel is planning a targeted assault on Lebanon.
A member of the Israeli cabinet confirmed that this attack will focus on a specific and strategic objective. Meanwhile, the United States has called on Lebanon to ensure any retaliatory actions remain limited.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib mentioned that U.S. officials have urged restraint from Hezbollah in the event of an Israeli attack. Additionally, several flights to Lebanon have been suspended as tensions rise.
The United Nations has issued a plea for both sides to avoid escalating the conflict.
In a related development, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan criticized Israel’s actions against Palestinians, warning of a possible strong military response similar to Turkey’s interventions in Karabakh and Libya.
In response, the Israeli Foreign Minister compared Erdoğan to Saddam Hussein. The Turkish Foreign Minister retaliated by suggesting that the Zionists will eventually face justice, much like the Nazis.
