ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (Asia Free Press): Pakistan on Tuesday has reported less than 700 coronavirus cases, the lowest single-day infections in the last four months.
According to the health ministry latest data, the country recorded 689 cases during the past 24 hours, bringing the total caseload to over 1.25 million.
On June 21, Pakistan registered 663 cases; however, the new instances sharply rose after the country hit the Delta variant in June.
Pakistan also reported 18 more fatalities from the deadly virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 28,152.
The Tuesday fatalities were also the lowest single-day deaths since July, the ministry data showed.
The data shows that 2,280 people are currently in critical condition in hospitals, while over 1.18 million people have recovered from infections.
