United Nations Overlooks Significant Developments in Afghanistan: Mujahid

KABUL: Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, has criticized the United Nations for focusing on minor internal issues in Afghanistan, specifically women’s education and employment. He says that this narrow focus overlooks significant developments within the country.

In response to recent UN debates, Mr. Mujahid expressed concern that the discussions magnified these two issues while neglecting to mention nationwide security, general amnesty for workers of the previous administration, peace and stability, economic progress, the creation of disciplined security forces, independence of the national budget, and other important changes.

Mr. Mujahid emphasized that UN meetings should address the removal of blacklists, lifting of sanctions, release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets, recognition of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and transfer of the UN seat to the Islamic Emirate.

He further stated that the omission of these critical issues and the continued pressure on Afghanistan indicate that biased circles are still at war with Afghanistan. He added that the United Nations is being used against the Afghan people.

Mr. Mujahid also emphasized that the people of Afghanistan recognize their government and trust their leaders.

He highlighted the importance of religion and national values to the Afghan people, for which they have made sacrifices for decades.
These statements from the Islamic Emirate were made in response to a United Nations Security Council meeting focusing on certain issues in Afghanistan.
