New Delhi fears its grave human rights violations will expose it allowed Muslim bloc special envoy to Kashmir.

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11, (Asia Free Press): OIC’s Special Envoy on Jammu and Kashmir Yousef Aldobeay on Thursday revealed that the Indian government did not respond to the Muslim bloc request to allow its special envoy to visit Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to a joint news conference along with Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the OIC special envoy said that the bloc Secretary-General was requested by the Indian government last year, but no response was received from New Delhi.

Last year, at the 47th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Niamey, Niger, the Muslim bloc top diplomats had called to examine and analyse the egregious violations of international human rights humanitarian standards in the IOJK with particular reference to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Aldobeay, along with OIC’s Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Ambassador Tarig Bakhit and other senior officials, arrived on Nov. 6 to Islamabad on his six-day visit to Pakistan administered Kashmir, also known as Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to meet the victims of the Indian violations of the Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire.

This was Aldobeay second visit to Azad Kashmir during this year.

“Our OIC Secretary General called the Indian envoy in Jeddah and handed over him the OIC resolution and also the bloc decision to send its envoy to Kashmir but so far Indian not respond to the headquarter request,” he told reporters.

He said that he would submit his report and recommendations to the Foreign Ministers of OIC before the next Council of Foreign Ministers meeting scheduled in Islamabad in March 2022.

“I will recommend the new mechanism regarding Kashmir and the Foreign Ministers will take its decision in March 2022,” he said. However, he did not share any detail about the new mechanism.

He added that good news would hear in the upcoming CFM meeting.

Speaking on occasion, Pakistan Foreign Minister thanked the OIC special envoy and his delegation for visiting and said the world could see the difference between Pakistan and India.

“OIC special envoy along his delegation visited to Azad Kashmir, meet with local people, victims and local officials freely and we always allow international human rights officials to visit Kashmir and meet with whom they want but India never allow anyone because they are trying to hide their crimes from international community committing against innocent people,” Qureshi said.

“This is difference between Pakistan and India,” he added.

India always refused to allow any international human rights organisation and officials from visiting Kashmir.

According to the human rights group, New Delhi forces have killed nearly 100,000 innocent Kashmiri people since 1990. Indian forces raped a thousand women, and hundreds of young Kashmiris boys were arrested, and some still missing.
