KABUL(BNA): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan held its seventh regular cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund. The meeting focused on several significant national issues, resulting in important decisions regarding infrastructure development and public services.
According to an official statement from the ARG, discussions revolved around facilitating construction activities and streamlining the process of granting work permits across the country. The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, in collaboration with relevant authorities, was tasked with preparing a strategic plan to simplify construction procedures, ensuring that citizens can obtain ownership documentation and work permits in a timely and efficient manner.
Furthermore, the cabinet endorsed the findings of a delegation regarding the land acquisition process for the fourth section of the first phase of the Khaf-Herat railway project, authorizing the commencement of construction work. The expropriation of 30 kilometers of land for the Aqina-Andkhoy railway’s first phase was also approved, with the Ministry of Public Works instructed to expedite the necessary actions.
In a major decision, the cabinet approved the Kabul City Development Plan, which had been jointly prepared by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing and the Kabul Municipality.
The plan aims to enhance the city’s infrastructure and urban planning. The Kabul Municipality has been directed to implement the plan in accordance with the approved guidelines to drive forward the capital’s development and modernization efforts.
