KABUL(BNA): Haji Din Mohammad Ahmadzai, Head of the Northern Cotton Traders Union, has announced the export of 15,000 tons of cotton to foreign markets.
Speaking to the Bakhtar News Agency, Ahmadzai stated that most of this cotton was exported from Balkh province to Pakistan and China over the past year. He urged the farmers in Balkh to collect cotton in fabric sacks to prevent quality degradation.
Meanwhile, Mullah Agha Jan Akhund, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, emphasized that Afghanistan’s agricultural sector is gradually becoming more mechanized each year. He affirmed that the Islamic Emirate officials are committed to supporting farmers to the best of their abilities.
