ISLAMABAD, Dec 3 (Asia Free Press): Pakistan Foreign Ministry on Friday claimed that official social media accounts of its embassy in Serbia had hacked.
“The Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts of the Embassy of Pakistan in Serbia have been hacked. Messages being posted on these accounts are not from the Embassy of Pakistan in Serbia,” the Foreign Ministry tweeted.
The Pakistan Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia has said that it’s social media accounts were hacked and logged-in from Karachi Pakistan at 05:59 hours Local Time [09:59 PST].
After hacking the twitter account, baseless and un-factual post was issued regarding non-payment of salaries. This was totally false and far from reality, the embassy said in a statement.
The twitter account was retrieved at 09:11 hours Local time (13:11 hours PST). The baseless posts were deleted from the embassy’s social media accounts.
Earlier, huge criticism triggered a post in that tweeted from the official Twitter account of the Pakistan embassy and said that the government officials in the embassy are facing financial problems and didn’t received salaries from last three months.
However, later the Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said that the posts have no links with the embassy.
