Following the special directions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police have devised a special security plan for New Year’s Eve.

To ensure foolproof security, monitor the movement of suspicious elements, and ensure effective traffic management, 3,500 Islamabad Police officers and 350 traffic officers have been deployed. Special security teams and a Quick Response Force will also be stationed across the city.

IGP Islamabad emphasized that a strict crackdown will be conducted against hooliganism, wheelie riding, skating, and harassment on New Year’s night, with strong legal action against lawbreakers.

He also urged parents to prevent their children from engaging in unlawful activities and advised all citizens to celebrate responsibly within the bounds of the law, proving themselves to be civilized members of society.

Meanwhile, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, and CTO Islamabad, Capt. (retd.) Hamzah Humayun. The meeting was attended by zonal SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, and traffic police officers.

SSP Operations Islamabad issued instructions to all officers, emphasizing the need for strict checking at the city’s entry and exit points as well as within the city. A strict legal action will be taken against aerial firing, fireworks, hooliganism, wheelie riding, and dangerous driving.

Additionally, extra police personnel have been deployed at key locations, commercial centers, and markets for New Year’s Eve. All officers will be present in the field, briefing their teams. City-wide surveillance will be carried out through Safe City cameras and drone cameras.

CTO Islamabad stated that special traffic teams have been formed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. Traffic police officers will work alongside operational police to maintain law and order.

Islamabad Police considers the protection of citizens’ lives and property and maintaining peace and order in the city to be its top priority. Citizens are encouraged to celebrate the New Year in a peaceful and safe environment.
