Islamabad, Oct. 11, (Asia Free Press): The Chinese U22 national football team on Monday announced its decision of quitting the Asian Football Confederation, AFC U23 championship qualifiers to be held in Tajikistan, the state run media reported
In a statement China’s U22 national football team said, “Due to epidemic prevention and control regulations, flight restrictions and other reasons, the China U22 national football team will be unable to travel to Tajikistan as planned to participate in the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers. We have to withdraw from the games with regret.”
The Chinese team will focus on preparing for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games under the head coach Alexander Jankovic.
The China’s U22 football team was included in group G along with Australia, Indonesia and Brunei in the qualifiers. The qualifiers for group G were scheduled to be held in Indonesia from October 23 to 31.
