ISLAMABAD, Oct 6 (Asia Free Press): Pakistan Army Chief on Wednesday appointed Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as the new director-general of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the military’s media affairs wing announced.
While the former chief of premier intelligence agency Lt Gen Faiz Hameed has been posted as the Peshawar corps commander.
The new top spymaster Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum was commissioned in Light Anti-Tank Battalion, Punjab Reg.
He has diversified experience of command/staff and instructional assignments.
He’s a graduate of CA Centre UK, Staff College, Advance Staff Course UK, National Defense University Islamabad, APCSS USA, and Royal College Defense Studies UK.
He commanded an infantry brigade in South Waziristan, Kurram, and Hangu during Operation Zarbe Azb and was Inspector-General of FC Balochistan during Operation Raddul Fasad.
General has vast experience of command in conventional as well as sub-conventional threat environments. He has been on command on both the western border and LOC besides long service in Balochistan.
He served as an instructor at PMA, Staff College and NDU, Commandant Staff College, CS 5 Corps, and His last assignment was Corps commander 5 Corps, Sindh.
