Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the custodial killing of two youth in Shopian in a fake encounter carried out by the Indian occupation forces in the broad daylight to hide their failure to suppress the freedom sentiments and resistance of the people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC leaders including Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Junaid-ul-Islam, Muhammad Yasin Attai, Maulana Musaib Nadvi and Muhammad Ramzan in their statements issued in Srinagar said that different RSS-influenced Indian agencies like National Investigation Agency and State Investigation Agency in the garb of raids are indulging in the worst kind of human rights violations across Jammu and Kashmir. They said India is stifling political dissent through a relentless campaign of state terrorism and continuing its atrocities on the unarmed Kashmiris.
The APHC leaders pointed out that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been facing the Indian repression for the last over 7 decades and the BJP regime has stepped up its repressive tactics after revoking the special status of the occupied territory. They said, Narendra Modi’s high-handed methods and grave human rights abuses have resulted in a groundswell of anti-India sentiment in IIOJK. They added that decades of repression and humiliation on the part of India have only strengthened the Kashmiris’ resolve to resist its illegal occupation.
The APHC leaders said India’s policy on the Kashmir dispute revolves around the military solution whereas Jammu and Kashmir is purely a political issue which can be resolved peacefully through a free and fair plebiscite in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
They pointed out that on military front India has utterly failed to suppress the freedom sentiments of the people of Kashmir so it is better for New Delhi to accept the ground realities and shun its stubbornness and arrogance regarding the peaceful resolution of the lingering dispute. They urged the world community to come forward and hold India accountable for its state terrorism in IIOJK.
The APHC leaders expressed serious concern over the miserable plight of the illegally detained Kashmiris Hurriyat leaders and activists including APHC chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Meraajuddin Kalwal, Bilal Siddiqi, Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani, Umar Aadil Dar, Saleem Nannaji, Muhammad Yaseen Butt, Shabir Ahmed Dar, Sajjad Gul, Molvi Shams Rehman, Firdous Ahmed Shah and Jahngir Ghani Butt.
