DUSHANBE, Dec 31, (Asia Free Press): Afghanistan’s power company Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) CEO Hafiz Mohammad has signed a contract on electricity import with Tajik Power Company Barki Tojik for 2022 as part of an official visit to Tajikistan, according to local media.
This agreement was signed as a result of two days of negotiations between the two sides, as well as a suspended agreement from July to December 2021 due to political developments in Afghanistan was also signed, DABS company officials told AKI Press.
During the visit, comprehensive discussions were held between the two parties on regional connectivity and development projects such as CASA 1000 and the construction of a 500 kV line in the energy sector.
At the end of the visit, the Afghan dignitaries emphasised the importance of cooperation with Tajikistan and assured that the security and defence forces of the International Energy Agency (IEA) were ready to provide security for the suspended projects.
Before the fall of Kabul, mid-August this year, various agreements of the Afghanistan government, which Ashraf Ghani then led, were suspended due to the tense political situation in Afghanistan. However, now in the Taliban-led Afghanistan, the country is on the way to resigning all of its suspended agreements on possible availabilities.
