Quoting senior police officials a local news agency reported that an unidentified militant has also been killed.
Shopian, Feb 19 (AsiaFreePress): Two Indian army soldiers were killed by Kashmiri rebels in southern Kashmir’s Shopian district Saturday morning.
Officials said that the government forces led by Indian army, paramilitary and local police launched a military operation in Chermarg village of Zainapora in the district.
Quoting senior police officials a local news agency reported that an unidentified militant has also been killed.
They said that the two Indian army soldiers were injured in the initial exchange of gunfire and they were shifted to I military hospital for treatment where the duo succumbed.
The killed army personnel have been identified as Santosh Yaadev and Romit Chauhan of first Rashtriya Rifles.
