TEHRAN, Jan 07, (Asia Free Press): Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Norwegian counterpart Ms Anniken Huitfeldt in a telephone conversation, exchanged views on the ongoing Vienna talks.
During the telephone conversation, both Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional and international issues, and the discussions on the removal of sanctions in Vienna, reported IRNA.
Regarding the two countries’ high economic and technological potentials, Amirabdollahian expressed hope that the cooperation between the two countries would increase to develop relations.
Mentioning the talks in Vienna, Amirabdollahian said that now the general atmosphere of negotiations is positive, and if the parties return to their total obligations in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran will also stop its compensatory measures.
“The Western parties should show their good faith not only in word, but also in deeds and the desired practical action is to lift the sanctions and return to JCPOA,” he added while focusing on Vienna talks.
Norwegian FM Huitfeldt, while referring to the Vienna talks, said that “we are following the talks closely and are aware of Iran’s constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency”.
She also expressed hope that the Vienna talks would lead to a good agreement between the two sides.
The ongoing eighth round of talks, started on Jan 03, 2022, to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and remove sanctions against Iran.
