SRINAGAR, Dec 13 (Asia Free Press): In Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir, Indian armed forces Monday, in their fresh act of state terrorism, killed two Kashmiri youth in the capital city Srinagar, according to local media.

Two youth were shot dead by Indian forces during indiscriminate firing in the Rangreth area of Srinagar. The identity of youth is yet to be ascertained, reported Free Press Kashmir.

Earlier, on Sunday [December 12], Indian armed forces killed a civilian in village Bargam area of Awantipora in Pulwama district during a cordon and search operation.

The youth was killed extra-judicially during a cordon and search operation joint cordon and search operation launched by Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP), 42 Rashtriya Rifles and 130Bn Central Reserve Police Force in the Awantipora area.

The authorities sealed all entry and exit points of the area and suspended internet services immediately after the killing.

The slain has been identified as Sameer Ahmad Tantray, son of Ghulam Mohammad Tantray, a resident of Bargam, Awantipora.

In a statement, the JKP spokesperson claimed that the slain had joined a local armed fighter group and was involved in several attacks against the Indian forces.

However, while talking to Asia Free Press, the family of Sameer rejected the claims made by police and said that he was a civilian.

Meanwhile, in a statement, All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesperson strongly condemned the killing of Kashmiri youth by Indian armed forces and urged the world community to address the long-pending dispute to end the bloodshed in the territory.

The APHC urged the UN Secretary-General to take appropriate measures to stop the genocide in Kashmir and impress upon India to allow free and fair plebiscite in Kashmir for a peaceful resolution of the dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.

In November, the Indian armed forces killed eight innocent Kashmiri civilians, including a well-known businessman in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar.

Kashmiri police claimed to have killed four armed fighters; however, later, their claims were proved wrong when the victim families staged a protest and accused Indian forces of killing innocent people.

Later, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir Manoj Sinha also ordered an inquiry to investigate the alleged encounter and kill four innocent people, including the businessman.

Since October 1, this year, Indian occupied forces killed at least 50 people in “extra-judicial” killings in the valley.
The Indian forces have killed over 100,000 innocent people since in the the only Muslim majority region since 1990.
