ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, met with renowned Pakistan and UK-based lawyer and political figure Muhammad Taj Mughal in Islamabad on Sunday.
Munawar Mughal was also present during the meeting, while Director General Political Affairs Aamir Zeeshan Jarral, Political Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Azadar Hussain Kazmi and PS Sahibzada Younis attended the session as well.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, political affairs and development-related issues were discussed in detail.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said the government’s foremost priorities were public service, transparent governance and timely completion of development projects. He stated that the development process in Azad Kashmir was being accelerated and made more effective and result-oriented to provide real relief to the people.
The prime minister said that improving healthcare, education, infrastructure and employment opportunities remained among the government’s major objectives, and practical measures were being taken to strengthen these sectors.
He further said that transparent utilization of development funds was being ensured and that all projects were being closely monitored to guarantee efficiency and accountability.
Discussing political stability, the AJK premier said sustainable development in the region depended upon political harmony and stability. He urged all political forces to rise above differences and work collectively in the larger public and state interest.
Prime Minister Rathore said the government believed in dialogue, reconciliation and institutional coordination to strengthen governance and democratic stability in Azad Kashmir.
He reiterated that good governance, merit and rule of law were the fundamental principles of his administration and emphasized that the government was committed to steering Azad Kashmir towards progress and prosperity on the basis of these values.
The prime minister also expressed the government’s commitment to benefiting from the experience and expertise of overseas Kashmiri leadership in promoting institutional reforms and improving governance.
On the occasion, Muhammad Taj Mughal praised the prime minister’s development-oriented and public-friendly initiatives and said his dedication to public service had brought positive change to the region and restored people’s confidence in the political system.
Muhammad Taj Mughal also invited the prime minister to visit the United Kingdom and Mirpur, which Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore accepted.
