KABUL(BNA): The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a meeting today, Sunday with Mr. Zamir Kabulov, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan.
According to an official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions revolved around strengthening bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Russia, with a specific focus on economic cooperation, investment, and transit.
Mawlawi Muttaqi underscored the significance of Afghanistan’s diplomatic ties with Russia and stressed the importance of expanding economic and trade collaborations between the two countries. He also highlighted the critical role of high-level exchanges between delegations, noting that several Afghan officials had been invited to participate in major events in Russia over the past year.
In turn, Mr. Kabulov emphasized Russia’s interest in enhancing economic and trade relations with Afghanistan. He further announced that a high-ranking Russian delegation is scheduled to visit Kabul in the near future to engage in discussions with senior officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. These talks aim to explore avenues for cooperation and expansion of partnerships across various sectors.
