ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (Asia Free Press): Pakistan on Tuesday announced to begin anti-coronavirus immunization for children aged 12 and up.
Planning Minister Asad Umar, who leads the country’s anti-virus strategy, announced the decision in a Twitter post.
βIn today’s NCOC meeting decided to start vaccination of all 12 years and older. Special drive will be run for vaccination at schools to make it easier for children to be vaccinated,β Umar said.
The country reported 1,400 fresh infections over the past 24 hours, the lowest single-day tally since July 5, when 830 cases were recorded, that bringing the total caseload to over 12 million.
With 41 more fatalities, the deaths toll in the South Asian country also raised to 27,638.
Pakistan so far vaccinated over 79 million vaccine doses.
