KABUL (BNA) In a meeting Foreign Minister, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, while congratulating Mr. Asif Durrani on his new tenure, said we hope that with your appointment, the political and economic relations between the two countries will develop further, and this requires joint work.
He said during the meeting that with ensured security in Afghanistan, a good opportunity has come up to strengthen the economy of the two countries, commence major projects, and increase trade according to a statement released by the Ministry.
“Afghans will never harm anyone; we will allow none to use our soil against another country; and our efforts will always be directed at working for regional security and stability,” Muttaqi added.
For his part, Mr. Durrani said after four-decade of war and problems; his efforts will be aimed at enhancing relations between the two countries; our countries have progress in the field of business that is appreciable; regional security is to everyone’s benefit; and we will cooperate in the security sector.
Mr. Durrani said we are ready to develop bilateral political, economic, and other mechanisms; We will pay serious attention to completing the remaining work of the Torkham-Jalalabad road; and that visa facilities will be provided for Afghans, particularly for medical patients.
To end, FM Muttaqi also called for addressing the problems of Afghan prisoners and the delay in Afghan traders’ goods in Pakistan, to which Mr. Durrani pledged full cooperation.
