ISLAMABAD, Jul 25 (APP): Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, Culture, and Heritage Ataullah Tarar visited the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters on Wednesday to review the arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, titled “Azadi Fest,” to be held on August 14.
According to a statement, Minister Attaullah Tarar was greeted with a warm reception by Chairman CDA Mohammad Ali Randhawa.
A meeting chaired by Federal Minister Ataullah Tarar was held to discuss the Independence Day celebrations. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), the Administrator of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and senior officials from the CDA.
In the meeting, the objectives of “Azadi Fest” were decided, which included reviving the patriotism of the Pakistani people, flag hoisting ceremony, musical concerts, food festival, exhibition of different Pakistani cultures, variety shows and fireworks.
Apart from this, for the first time a drone show will also be a part of the celebrations.
Additionally, special plans were discussed for the renovation and branding of the city to reflect the festive spirit.
The official mascot of Islamabad, MarGo (with “Mar” representing Margalla and “Go” symbolizing prosperity), will play a central role in the branding efforts.
The meeting also addressed the involvement of the corporate and private sectors, which will be invited to sponsor various activities, including musical concerts, lighting arrangements, tree plantation drives, city branding, and the drone show.
Event sponsors will be provided with special opportunities, including free space and facilities, to promote their brand image in conjunction with their support for the celebrations.
Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa expressed his gratitude to Federal Minister Ataullah Tarar for his visit and support. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in ensuring the success of the Independence Day celebrations, aiming to make AzadiFest a memorable and grand event for all citizens.
