Gas explosion in northeastern Liaoning province at restaurant damages 3-floor building, cars
ISTANBUL (AA) – At least three people were killed while over 30 others were injured in a gas explosion in China on Thursday.
The gas explosion was reported at a restaurant in China’s northeastern Liaoning province, Chinese public broadcaster CGTN reported.
Local authorities in the capital Shenyang of the province, where the restaurant is located, said over 100 firefighters are engaged in the rescue operation at the spot.
The injured have been rushed to the hospital.
Witnesses said the blast happened at around 8.20 a.m. (0020GMT).
The explosion damaged a three-floor building housing the restaurant, broke windows of multiple buildings around the spot, and damaged parked cars.
