TEHRAN, Dec 29, (Asia Free Press): Italian Envoy to Iran Giuseppe Perrone, in a meeting with Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), CEO Ali Naderi, lauded Iran’s vaccination program and accentuated unbiased reporting on the talks in Vienna to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, according to media reports.
The meeting took place in the IRNA building, where Naderi congratulated Perrone on New Year Eve and said that Iranians like Italy welcome expansion of cooperation with that country.
The CEO highlighted the necessity of independent reporting on the talks in the Austrian capital between Iran and the P4+1 on a possible return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and removal of sanctions against Iran, reported IRNA.
He said that the commendable reporting approach was based on the needs of the European Troika, and this had to be fixed since other European states and the European Union (EU) have different views on the issues.
The two countries’ media increased their efforts to introduce each country’s financial capabilities to their people so that the business communications between the two countries could increase; the IRNA chief added.
Perrone said that Italy had been the first European partner for Iran for a long time, and it has a good relationship with the administration in Iran.
He praised Iran’s vaccination program while adding that Italy has donated two million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to Iran and was ready to strengthen their cooperation.
The Italian Ambassador offered an optimistic approach to the talks in Vienna, calling on independent media to reflect the realities of the talks.
Iran and Italy maintained their business exchange despite the US sanctions in recent years, the diplomat further said while expressing hope that the existing barriers will be removed after sanctions are lifted.
