KABUL(BNA): Mullah Hidayatullah Badri, Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, held a significant meeting with Ahmad Mohseni, the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and delegates from six prominent Iranian mining companies. The discussion centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation through investments in Afghanistan’s rich mineral resources.
According to a statement released by the ministry, the Iranian companies expressed strong interest in exploring opportunities in Afghanistan’s iron, coal, and oil sectors. The delegation presented detailed information on their current mining activities and emphasized their readiness to invest in large-scale projects within Afghanistan. They also committed to offering specialized training programs for Afghan engineers to ensure the extraction of minerals follows international standards.
Mullah Hidayatullah Badri welcomed their investment interest, reaffirming Afghanistan’s commitment to fostering a favorable investment environment in line with the country’s legal frameworks and mining regulations. He assured the Iranian delegation of the ministry’s full support in facilitating these initiatives, aiming to boost Afghanistan’s mineral extraction capabilities and economic growth.
