BEIJING, July 10 (APP): The two-day 10th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations opened in Nishan, Qufu city, China’s Shandong province on Wednesday.

Taking “Traditional Culture and Modern Civilization” as its main theme, the forum aims to “implement the global civilization initiative, promote the common values of all mankind, and build a community with a shared future for mankind.”

The opening session was addressed by local and foreign dignitaries including Lin Wu, Secretary of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Minister of Culture and Tourism, Fukuda Yasuo, former prime minister of Japan and chairman of International Confucian Association and others.

Founded in 2010, the forum has continued to expand in scale, innovate in form, and enhance its influence.
In the previous nine forums, a total of 9 main topics and 58 sub-topics have been set up, with nearly 200 various seminars and exchange activities. This year, the forum will host two keynote speeches, one high-end interview, 12 sub-topic dialogue sessions, and 7 parallel forums, providing Nishan answers to better cope with global challenges and promote the progress of human civilization.

The 10th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations is being attended by nearly 400 international guests from 63 countries, including diplomats from various countries, representatives from international organizations, sister cities, and renowned scholars, making it the most prestigious and well-attended forum in its history.

The forum features six sub-topics, including “Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning under Global Challenges”. It will host a dialogue on classical civilizations between China and Italy, engaging in in-depth discussions on the two ancient civilizations. For the first time, the forum will hold a sports culture forum and a family culture seminar.

In addition, the third Overseas Chinese Forum and the fourth Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Forum are also on the agenda.
