BEIJING, Dec 1 (Asia Free Press): Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday reiterated his country’s support for the permanent settlement of the Palestinian issue and said China supports their just cause.
In a statement issued on “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” as observed by the United Nations, Xi said the Palestinian question was the core of the Middle East issue, according to state-run Xinhua News Agency.
“We have a sincere friendship with Palestinian people, and China will work for the early settlement of the Palestinian issue and achieving long-lasting peace and stability in the Middle East region,” President Xi stressed.
“A comprehensive and approachable solution to the Palestinian issue, peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel, and common development of the Arab and Jewish nations accord with the mutual interests of Palestine and Israel, the long-term goal of regional stability, and the shared aspirations of all peace-loving and justice-upholding countries and nations,” the Chinese President added.
He noted that the reimbursement of the Palestinian issue must adhere to the correct principles and direction.
“The international fraternity should uphold objectivity and justice, advocate tolerance and mutual understanding, and take the 30th anniversary of the Madrid Peace Conference as an opportunity to provide more support for the resumption of equal dialogue between Palestine and Israel based on the two-state solution,” he added.
Meanwhile, the international fraternity should continue to help the Palestinian people fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and effectively enhance the economy, people’s well-being, and humanitarian situation in Palestine, Xi added in his message.
He stressed, “China has great importance to the Palestinian issue, and supported the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore the legitimate rights of their nation.
