The 25-year-old athlete was allegedly stabbed by her ‘husband,’ says Athletics Kenya
Islamabad, Oct 13, (Asia Free Press): Kenya’s well-known Olympian athlete Agnes Tirop was found allegedly stabbed to death at her home on Wednesday, said Athletics Kenya.
While speaking to the media, Barnaba Korir, Chairman of Athletics Kenya in the Nairobi Region, said that preliminary reports show Tirop suffered a stab wound.
“Tirop was found dead at their home in Iten after her husband allegedly stabbed her. We are still working to unearth more details surrounding her demise,” Athletics Kenya said in a statement.
The 25-year-old was a long-distance runner who has been Kenya’s two-times World Championship bronze medalist at the 2017 and 2019 World Championships in the 10km event.
