Ministry of Foreign Affairs debunks India’s baseless claims
ISLAMABAD, (AsiaFreePress): Pakistan on Thursday rejected the Indian government and media claims of busted a terror module linked with Islamabad and termed it baseless allegations.
In a statement, Pakistan foreign ministry spokesman Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said India couldn’t hide its ugly face of terrorism as New Delhi behind the state sponsored terrorism in the region.
“We emphatically reject the Indian media’s baseless claims that Indian authorities have busted a so-called ‘terror module’ having alleged links with Pakistan”, the Spokesperson said.
Earlier, on Tuesday India claimed to have busted a terror module and arrested six persons who were planning to carry out attacks in the national capital New Delhi.
In a press conference, the Special Cell of Delhi police said that it had received an input from a central agency that a Pakistan sponsored group of is planning to execute serial attacks in India.
Debunking the Indian claims, the Spokesperson said that this has been done in reaction to Pakistan’s recent dossier in which India’s atrocities and human rights violations in Kashmir were exposed.
He further added that such unfounded lies are a part of India’s smear campaign to malign Pakistan and create a diversion from the recent developments with connection to Indian administered Kashmir.
Last year Pakistan released a dossiers of Indian investment in terrorist acts in the country including sponsoring terrorist groups in Pakistan.
In 2016, Pakistan arrested Kulbushen Jadhav – who Pakistan says was a serving officer in the Indian Navy – in the town of Mashkel in the southwestern Balochistan province, a few miles from the border with Iran.
Allegedly disguised as Mubarak Hussein Patel, a Muslim, he was accused of running a spy network for the Research and Analysis Wing, India’s premier intelligence agency, from the Iranian port of Chabahar.
Video confessions of his spying were also released, who confessed his involvement in dozens terrorist attacks and running a terror network in Pakistan.
A Pakistani military court sentenced him to death in April 2017 on espionage and terrorism charges. No date, however, was set for his execution, which would be by hanging.
India moved the ICJ, which stayed the execution in May 2017, pending a final decision in the proceedings.
In July 2019, the ICJ ruled that Jadhav be treated under the Vienna Convention, asking Pakistan to provide him consular access and continue to stay his execution.
