The National Economic Council (NEC) on Wednesday approved the national development budget for the next financial year (FY), 2026-27, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Total volume of the development programme for the next financial year was estimated at Rs4,715 billion.
The meeting also reviewed the development budget for the ongoing financial year.
A presentation was given to the meeting on the provinces’ annual development plans.
The meeting approved key economic targets for the next FY.
The chief ministers of Sindh, Balochistan and KP attended the meeting, while Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz attended the meeting via a video link.
The meeting also gave approval to the monitoring and evaluation report of mega projects.
The meeting was briefed on development programmes and economic targets.
It also reviewed the public sector investment for the ongoing and next FYs.
Development budgets of the four provinces were also approved.
The meeting also took stock of the economic and development targets of the country.
