KABUL: Country’s Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with Iran’s ambassador, Hassan Kazami Qomi in Kabul today, Saturday.
A meeting was held to discuss on strengthening of bilateral ties, the release of Afghan prisoners sentenced to death in Iran, and many other mutual interested issues, according to the Ministry of Foreign statement.
Ambassador Qomi shared details about Iran’s latest comment in the Doha meeting and reminded that the Iran delegation supports the new Afghan government in this meeting, according to the statement.
Qomi stressed more cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran and border management and also shared details about the latest measures of his government.
For his part, Foreign Minister, Muttaqi said that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wants good ties with Iran, and asked to resume the process of transferring Afghan prisoners, delaying executions of Afghan prisoners sentenced to death, and facilitating visas for Afghan citizens.
Meanwhile, Muttaqi stressed addressing problems through dialogues and mutual understanding between the two sides, further said the Ministry’s statement.
