Pakistan information minister reveals, Hamza Afridi email ID created in India for sending email to New Zealand cricket board

ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (Asia Free Press): Pakistan on Wednesday accused India of sending fake threat emails to New Zealand cricket officials and their families.

Speaking at a news conference, the country Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Information Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said India had played a key role in the cancellation of the New Zealand tour.

“A threat had been sent to the New Zealand cricket board from a fake Hamza Afridi’s email ID that was generated from India,” Hussain told reporters.
“The email ID generated for this purpose and only one email has been sent from there,” he added.

Last week, the New Zealand cricket board abruptly canceled its Pakistan tour just minutes before the first scheduled match cited security reasons.
While the board authorities also refused to share the threat information, which they received, with Pakistan.

After New Zealand, the English cricket board also announced to cancel its next month’s tour to the South Asian country over the security situation.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid termed the move as part of hidden hands “conspiracy”.

“Sunday Guardian has published articles against New Zealand team tour while Indian media quoted news from fake Ihsanullah Ehsan Facebook account,” Hussain added.

He demanded the International Cricket Council investigate the threats received by the New Zealand team and take action against the culprits.

Since the Afghan Taliban takeover Kabul last month, the western and Indian media accusing Pakistan of Taliban victory and the US, India defeat in Afghanistan.

However, Islamabad repeatedly rejected the accusations and said the US had signed a peace agreement with the Taliban because of Islamabad’s help and facilitation.
