BEIJING, Apr 11 (AsiaFreePress): China’s Foreign Ministry said Monday that China’s policy towards Pakistan would not be affected by leadership change in the country.
“No matter how the political situation changes, China will not waver in its policy of friendship with Pakistan,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian told a press conference on Monday, adding that China wishes all parties in Pakistan to remain united and maintain the stability and development of the country together.
The no-confidence motion filed by an opposition alliance against Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan succeeded early Sunday (April 10) morning and the country is due to elect a new prime minister.
