Kashmir situation, human rights violations, and global diplomatic efforts discussed; invitation extended for December 10 protest in Kotli.

Islamabad: A high-level delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Jammu and Kashmir, led by Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, met former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas at his office. The delegation briefed him in detail on the grave and worsening situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), highlighting the continued human rights violations and the hardships faced by the oppressed Kashmiri people.

The delegation urged Sardar Tanveer Ilyas to continue his role in drawing national and international attention to the Kashmir cause and stressed the importance of ensuring implementation of the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir. The APHC leaders commended his longstanding contributions to the Kashmir cause and acknowledged his continuous efforts for the welfare and rehabilitation of Kashmiri refugees.

The delegation also invited the former Prime Minister to participate as a special guest in a protest demonstration scheduled for December 10, 2025, in Kotli, Azad Kashmir, marking Human Rights Day and condemning ongoing violations in IIOJK. Additionally, the delegation invited him to visit the APHC headquarters in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad.

The APHC representatives offered heartfelt condolences over the recent passing of Sardar Tanveer Ilyas’s brother-in-law, praying for the deceased’s forgiveness and eternal peace.

Sardar Tanveer Ilyas reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the Kashmir cause. “Kashmir runs through my veins,” he said, pledging to stand shoulder to shoulder with the APHC and pay tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people. He vowed to continue efforts “until Kashmir is freed from Indian occupation.”

He further assured that he would mobilize the Kashmiri diaspora worldwide to raise a stronger and more unified voice for the rights of the oppressed Kashmiris.
