KABUL: Mullah Mohammad Yusuf Wafa, Governor of Balkh, met with Nanda Oewilset, Indonesia’s ambassador to Afghanistan, to discuss strengthening economic ties, boosting exports and imports, and enhancing trade cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed visiting historical sites and monuments in Balkh, holding meetings with national traders and industrialists, and strengthening Islamic unity and brotherhood.
The Indonesian ambassador said that the purpose of his trip was to meet with traders and industrialists, promote economic development, and increase trade exchanges between the two countries. He added that Afghanistan, particularly Balkh province, holds special economic significance, and that security in the country has been ensured.
The Governor of Balkh, while welcoming the ambassador, stated that this visit holds great significance for both Afghanistan and Indonesia. He emphasized that Muslims are brothers to one another and must increase their efforts to achieve independence, freedom, progress, and Islamic unity.
He added, after 45 years of war, thankfully, security has been established. There is now a central government, and everyone lives under the command of one Emir. He noted that corruption has been eliminated, and relations with Islamic countries are improving day by day in accordance with the guidance of Esteemed Amir al-Muminin, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
