BEIJING, Dec 29 (Asia Free Press): Chinese and Russian representatives agreed to increase people-to-people contacts with “stronger senses of mission and responsibility” in a meeting on Tuesday.

According to Xia Baolong, vice-chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and president of the Chinese side of the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development (CRFCPD), under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era has seen great developing momentum.

On behalf of the committee, Xia also urged that momentum be maintained and China-Russia diplomacy to be advanced among the general public.

Boris Titov, the Russian head of the CRFCPD, participated in the meeting via video link, expressing optimism for new developments in bilateral cooperation.

Titov also congratulated the Communist Party of China as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Party’s founding, and applauded China for its complete victory in poverty alleviation.
