President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan met with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine in Chișinău, Moldova. The two leaders discussed the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, with a particular focus on President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Ukraine in January 2022 and the subsequent discussions. They expressed their contentment with the progress made in the Azerbaijan-Ukraine bilateral relationship.
President Ilham Aliyev mentioned the appointment of a new ambassador to Ukraine, who would assume his responsibilities in the near future.
President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his gratitude and praised Azerbaijan for its humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, as well as its concern for Ukrainian children and the organization of their visit to Azerbaijan.
Both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the mutual support provided by Azerbaijan and Ukraine in upholding each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty within international organizations.
