KABUL(BNA): The utilization of five lead and zinc mining blocks in Yakawlang, Bamiyan, is set to commence soon.

Mullah Hidayatullah Badri, the Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, has signed contracts for the development of these mining blocks with Afghan German, Al-Haramain, Gamma Eagle, Kandahar Khogyani, and Musa Sultan companies. The total investment for the project amounts to 1.797 billion Afghanis.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Mullah Hidayatullah Badri emphasized that the contracts are for five years, conditional on adherence to mining regulations, procedures, and commitments.
The Islamic Emirate holds a 51% share in this project.

Additionally, in exchange for extraction rights, the contracted companies will implement developmental projects, including the construction of roads, water and electricity dams, the second and fourth sections of the Khaf-Herat railway, and a teaching hospital.
