Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, Afghanistan’s Minister of Economy and Chair of the Committee for Attracting and Mobilizing Assistance for Returnees, emphasized the need for continued collaboration from industrial and commercial sectors—including trade associations, producers, and entrepreneurs—to support returnees during a high-level committee meeting.
According to the Ministry of Economy’s press office, the session brought together officials from key government bodies, including the Ministries of Finance, Refugees and Repatriation, Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Foreign Affairs, the National Statistics and Information Authority, and Natural Disaster Management, as well as security agencies. Also in attendance were representatives from the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and leading construction and manufacturing firms.
The discussions centered on improving coordination, streamlining service delivery, and addressing the pressing challenges faced by returnees, particularly those arriving from neighboring countries.
Minister Hanif acknowledged the private sector’s previous contributions in assisting returnees and communities affected by climate-related disasters, urging sustained engagement. In response, ACCI officials and business leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting returnee reintegration efforts in collaboration with the Islamic Emirate’s authorities and relevant committees, pledging full cooperation where needed.
