BEIJING, 22 Nov, (Asia Free Press): China has wished to work with the members of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for a nuclear weapon-free region.
ASEAN, is an economic union comprising of 10 members states in Southeast Asia, which promotes inter-governmental cooperation and facilitates economic, political, educational and security integration between its members and other countries in Asia.
Speaking at virtual China-Asia summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping said China strictly opposes hegemonic and power politics and pursues friendly co-existence with neighboring countries. He also stated establishment of China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and a health shield for the region.
