Srinagar, Nov 16, (Asia Free Press): The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Tuesday strongly condemned the extra-judicial killings of four persons at the hands of Indian occupational forces in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar city in Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir (IOJK), including a prominent businessman Altaf Ahmad Bhat and a doctor Mudasir Gul.
During an overnight cordon and search operation, the Indian forces stormed into a building in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar city and killed four persons, including Altaf Ahmad Bhat, who was used as a human shield.
In a statement, JK HCBA has expressed deep concerns about civilian killings in a predetermined pattern in Kashmir, either by the Indian forces or by unknown gunmen.
While condemning the killing of innocent civilians in an alleged gunfight and later on labelling them as OWG’s by Indian occupational forces, JK HCBA said, “The life and liberty of the people here in Kashmir have been made worst causality in the conflict.”
The JK HCBA has called for an independent probe in these killings by a sitting High Court judge in IOJK to unfold the truth and prosecute and punish the guilty involved in the gruesome killings of innocent civilians.
JK HCBA has also expressed heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies with the families of the slain.
The Bar Association demanded Indian authorities that the dead bodies be handed over to the families of the slain for honourable burial as per religious rites.
