Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has said that they are determined to restore the role of provinces in the National Action Plan that was formulated post December 2014 terrorist attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar.
“This role of the provinces will be restored that remained missing during the last four years,” a statement quoted him as saying.
Sharif was chairing a ‘law and order’ meeting, and expressed grief over the sidelining of the roles provinces have in the implementation of NAP. He said that they have been ignored in the past regime leading to increase in acts of terrorism in the country.
“Peaceful atmosphere is prerequisite for restoring national economy and development,” Sharif said while stressing that law and order in the country be made sure.
According to reports he said that Pakistan stands behind the armed forces and law-enforcement agencies and is united on the anti-terrorism narrative.
