ISLAMABAD, Oct. 23, (Asia Free Press): Pakistani Premier Imran Khan departed for Saudi Arabia on Saturday on a three-day visit, at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, reported state-run media.
Khan would attend the inaugural ceremony of the “Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) Summit” held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“Green Saudi Arabia” and “Green Middle East” initiatives, first of their kind in the Middle East Region, were launched by the Crown Prince in March 2021, aiming at protecting the nature and planet.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Energy Minister Hammad Azhar and Special Assistant on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Premier will be accompanying Premier Imran Khan.
The prime minister is supposed to share his perspective on the challenges faced by developing countries due to climate change.
He will also highlight Pakistan’s experience of launching nature-based solutions to address environmental challenges, including the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami.
Apart from meeting the Saudi delegates, Khan will interact with leading investors and people in business from Saudi Arabia and Pakistani diaspora.
