Industry and Commerce Ministry Convenes to Curb Precious Stones Smuggling

KABUL (BNA): The Ministry of Industry and Commerce recently convened a meeting aimed at curbing the smuggling of precious stones. The session, presided over by the acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Nooruddin Azizi, saw the participation of representatives from pertinent departments, as per a statement from the ministry.

During the meeting, Mr. Azizi emphasized that initiatives will be undertaken to ease the private sector and the public’s involvement. Furthermore, he stated that the trade of precious stones would undergo further legalization to deter smuggling activities.

In a preceding discussion on the matter, it was agreed that officials from the relevant departments would align their perspectives and suggestions in compliance with existing laws and regulations. These consolidated views are set to be presented in the subsequent session.
