TASHKENT, Jan 03, (Asia Free Press): Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), an Afghanistan-based power company has signed an electricity import contract for the year 2022 with the National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan, says local media report.
The contract has signed between Hafiz Mohammad Amin, Chief Executive Officer of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) and Dadajon Isakulov, President of National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan, according to AKIPress.
The said agreement has been signed at a conclusion of two-day negotiations in the two parties. The amount of this contract is 2 billion kWhr and It will cost about 100 million USD per year.
During the visit, DABS dignitaries also discussed the Sarkhan Pul-e-Khumri 500 kV line project, which was signed last year. The International Energy Agency (IEA) delegation promised to cooperate with Uzbekistan in suspended projects and expressed that IEA is willing to provide security for postponed projects.
Few days ago, Afghan dignitaries have also signed a contract on electricity import with Tajik power company Barki Tojik for 2022 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The contract was comprised by two projects, CASA 1000 and construction of 500 kV line in energy sector.
Before the fall of Kabul, mid-August of the previous year, various agreements of the Afghanistan government, which Ashraf Ghani then led, were suspended due to the tense political situation in Afghanistan. However, now in the Taliban-led Afghanistan, the country is on the way to resigning all of its suspended agreements on possible availabilities.
