According to Kashmir Media Service, the violence erupted on Sunday over a controversial survey of a historical mosque in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe strongly condemn the firing by Uttar Pradesh police on peaceful protesters in Sambhal. Action must be taken against the officials responsible. We pray for the deceased and extend condolences to their families,\u201d Owaisi said, urging justice for the victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AIMIM leader criticized the handling of the situation, linking it to broader concerns about the safety of Muslim places of worship in India. He said the 2019 Babri Masjid verdict, which awarded the disputed land for temple construction, has emboldened Hindutva groups to target mosques nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
