BEIJING, Dec 17, (Asia Free Press): Wang Wenbin, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman, says China stands ready to work with Pakistan to promote the high-quality development of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to build up regional connectivity and economic integration between the two border-sharing countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a pilot project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)”, Wang Wenbin said in a written reply in response to a comment made by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi about the BRI and CPEC connectivity a few days ago, according to Chinese media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The spokesperson said that, as Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Qureshi pointed out, the Belt and Road cooperation has removed infrastructure bottlenecks faced by many regions along the route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It promotes connectivity and makes an important contribution to global trade facilitation and economic growth,” the Chinese FM Spokesman further asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few days ago, addressing a conference organized by an Islamabad-based think tank, Qureshi said the “China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) would bring prosperity for people worldwide through global integration”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The BRI, with the CPEC as a flagship project, utilizes the economic geography and enhances the connectivity of Asia, Europe and Africa,” Shah Mahmood further added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
