Srinagar, Nov 4, (Asia Free Press): The Indian government has ordered an additional 5,000 troops to muzzle the voices of people in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK), reported a state-run news agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indian Home Ministry officials have confirmed the deployment of fifty additional companies in occupied territory, thirty companies being deployed in Srinagar alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Land at eight locations in South Kashmir has been allotted to construct permanent camps for paramilitary personnel and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement in Srinagar, all Parties Hurriyat Conference Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, said, “The ruling fascist regime of India is making systematic efforts to terrorise the Muslim population in the occupied territories.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India has also ordered the setting up of a special agency in the name of the State Investigation Agency (SIA) in IOJK to further tighten the noose around the Kashmiris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The authorities stated that the aforesaid agency would be the Nodal Agency to coordinate with India’s notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other agencies to take speedy and effective investigation and prosecution of cases against Kashmiris, particularly youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, the head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will be from the State Investigation Agency (SIA) office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new agency was announced two weeks after the Indian Home Minister, Amit Shah, visited Jammu and Kashmir for the first time since the scrapping of the erstwhile state’s semi-autonomous status in August 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
IOK witnessed a fresh spate of violence in October, during which Indian occupational forces martyred at least 22 Kashmiri youth during encounters. Many of whom were unarmed civilians and were killed extra-judicially.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
