Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a peace deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran had been reached and the official signing ceremony would be held on June 19 in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a post uploaded on his X timeline in the wee hours of Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said \u201cFollowing intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon. The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shehbaz Sharif thanked the US and Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict, besides appreciating the mediation effort and the leadership of State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The prime minister also thanked the \u201cvisionary\u201d leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Republic of T\u00fcrkiye for their immense contributions in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that with the agreement now in place, mediators would facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan has played a proactive and constructive role in supporting mediation efforts and backchannel diplomacy to promote peace and de-escalation in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, remained actively engaged with all concerned parties, advocating for dialogue and a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is pertinent to mention that a ceasefire was also agreed upon and later extended on Pakistan\u2019s request as part of the diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
World leaders and the international community have appreciated Pakistan\u2019s sincere efforts towards regional peace and stability.
